Trial Work Experience (TWE)

is an exploration of a Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Client’s ability and capacity to perform work duties in a single realistic, integrated work setting for the purposes of eligibility decision, and is used for those VR Clients who require further assessment to determine eligibility for VR services.

Work Adjustment Training (WAT)

is used for those VR Clients who require extensive preparation for employment. It is training in basic skills that individuals must possess to be successful at work. Work readiness skills are also known as soft skills, employability skills, or job readiness skills.

Job Development and Retention (JDR)

provides assistance to VR Clients, who are individuals with a disability, in obtaining and maintaining competitive employment in integrated work environments consistent with the VR Client’s selected vocational goal, abilities, capabilities, interests, and informed choice.

Rehabilitation Instructional Services (RIS)

includes a variety of time-limited objective-driven instruction and activities which assist VR Clients to prepare for further Vocational Rehabilitation services, to achieve their individualized employment goals. This service shall be provided in an individual setting.

Job Training (JT)

means a systematic training program, in a disability-friendly environment, that prepares persons with disabilities for entry-level employment opportunities or for career advancement in the competitive and integrated labor market.

Supported Education (SE)

provides instruction and assistance to Vocational Rehabilitation Clients in preparing for the education and/or training necessary to successfully achieve
employment in their chosen field, with registration, navigation, connecting with school resources or accessing needed accommodation services in educational settings.

Career Exploration (CE)

provides individualized instructions and assistance to Vocational Rehabilitation Clients in researching various career fields, qualifications, and skill requirements for employment in the VR Client’s area of interest, as well as current employment outlook and opportunities with local
employers throughout the state of Arizona.
